Privacy & cookie policy

Last updated 6 November 2026

This policy explains what happens to your personal information when you use the On Paper Festival website (onpaperfest.co.uk). We’ve kept it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

The On Paper Festival is organised by Meticulous Ink, a stationery studio based in Bath. Meticulous Ink is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us at info@meticulousink.com or on 01225 333004.

What we collect, and why

  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working properly.
  • Advertising measurement, only if you say yes. If you answer “Yes, please” on our cookie banner we load the Meta Pixel. It tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when you view a page, click a ticket button, click an exhibitor or our Instagram link, press the exhibitor application link, or tap our email address or phone number. Meta also receives your IP address, browser details and a cookie identifier. We use this to see which of our adverts lead to ticket sales and to show our adverts to people who might enjoy the festival. Our lawful basis is your consent.
  • Visitor statistics, only if you say yes. If you answer “Yes, please” we also load Google Analytics (through the Google tag). It records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, their device and browser type and how they move around the site, using a cookie identifier and your IP address. We use it to understand what’s working on the website and to improve it. Our lawful basis is your consent.
  • Emails and phone calls. If you contact us, we use your details to reply and keep the conversation for as long as it’s useful. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

We don’t have accounts, comment forms or a newsletter sign-up on this website, and we don’t collect your name, address or payment details here. Tickets are bought from Ticket Tailor, and exhibitor applications go through a Google Form. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave our site.

Cookies and similar technologies

Without your consent, the only thing we store on your device is a note of your cookie choice. Nothing is sent to Meta or Google unless you agree.

You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of every page. Choosing “No thanks” removes the Meta and Google cookies and stops both from loading. This site’s fonts are hosted on our own server, so your visit isn’t shared with Google Fonts.

Who else sees your information

  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (and Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States), only if you agree to the Pixel. See Meta’s privacy policy and cookie policy.
  • Google Ireland Limited (and Google LLC in the United States), only if you agree to Google Analytics. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Netlify, Inc., who host this website and may process server logs outside the UK.
  • Ticket Tailor, Google (Forms) and Instagram, when you follow links to them.

We don’t sell your information. Where information is transferred outside the UK, it’s protected by the safeguards our providers use for international transfers.

How long we keep it

Your cookie choice is kept for 6 months, then we ask again. Meta’s cookies last up to 90 days and Google Analytics’ up to 2 years. Meta and Google keep the data they receive under their own policies, and Google Analytics data is deleted after the retention period set in our account. Emails are kept for as long as they’re useful to the conversation, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see above). To use any of these rights, email info@meticulousink.com.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
