OUR CHOSEN CHARITY
From Me to You is a cancer support charity whose aim is to ease the loneliness and isolation that cancer patients can feel. Each year it sends over 10,000 handwritten letters to patients – at home, or in hospital – to brighten their days. The charity also encourages people to keep communicating with loved ones who are facing the disease by writing to them. This is how the charity was started, by Co-founder, Alison, writing to Co-founder, Brian, when he was being treated for bowel cancer. The letters became a lifeline to Brian, offering him a window to a word outside of his treatment.
At the On Paper Festival, you can participate by donating a letter at the Letter Writing Station, where you’ll find helpful hints and tips on scribing a joyful letter that will bring some light to dark days. Anyone can get involved and write as many times as they like.
